30 day Art Challenge

Sounds fun. I'm just posting it here because I don't have word processor, but I probably won't start it until July. Or maybe Monday, and knowing how flaky with art I am it'll be in a billion different mediums and probably not within thirty days because I'm such a perfectionist. I didn't get this list from anywhere in particular. I just googled it and picked my favorites from the ones that popped up.

1. Yourself. Done a few of these, maybe I can spice it up with a cartoon me. Or an anime me...or whatever. You get the idea.

2. Someone you like (celebrity, spouse, crush, etc.) This is a good excuse to finish the other half of that sketch of travis' face. lol

3. One, some, or all of your friends. Probably some or one are most likely. I've been feeling the urge to draw dimples, you know who you are. No worries, I won't massacre your face. Or anyone else's. Or maybe I'll draw the Ju. She's super cute...maybe a pouty face. Or maybe Meghnog or Lexi...I know too many people. Although I just had an artist inspiration. With how inseparable mark and lexi are I could do a half lexi's face half mark's face thing. Weird...but I kinda like the idea.

4. Favorite place. This could be fun. The state of texas, or maybe some mountains....who knows. All I know is open water is not my favorite place. EVER...

5. Your favorite outfit. Kinda boring, but my new favorite outfit is my flowy skirt, plain shirt, and a sheer scarf. Sunglasses too. Look like I belong in a windy day or a corvette.

6. Something you've never drawn before. Flashlight. lol Just kidding. I can only think of weird things like drapes and certain style hats. This is kinda confusing. Could be anything specific like a deformed picasso style face..or a simple leaf or specific flower. Endless possibilities...so I'll tackle this when I get to it. I was thinking and I've never drawn anything Egyptian before.

7. Favorite movie. Not specific again. Darn...character and cast? DVD or VHS cover? Another option is family or family member for this one. Probably go with movie, since right now my favorite movie has owls as the main characters. WOO.

8. Something with your favorite color. Yes! Abstract shapes...or a face with purple hair/eyes/skin. Endless possibilities....purple shoe? We get the idea and it's purple.

9. My favorite cartoon character. Which is....I'm at a loss. Oh! Kuzco...as a llama.

10. Something I couldn't live without. Dang I already drew Travis. Maybe I can draw his manly arms holding me...just kidding. Sunshine? Water? Air would be boring and swirly. Toothpaste. hahaha Social interaction. Which I could artsy up with a watercolor butterfly. Get it? Social butterfly. Eh...debatable.

11. My favorite food. Cheese...with a mouse!

12. An inanimate object, which according to google, most people skip. It only shows thirteen. Lame. No wonder. Guitar, bird cage, lamp, door slightly open, spiral staircase?

13. A comic! Woot. I love f-minus. "oh great this park is crawling with gummy bears!" hahaha. Or my own design and characters. Creative thoughts fail me with ideas for this one.

14. My favorite book character. Which is good ol' Radcliffe Emerson. Black hair, striking blue eyes, and the lovely nickname "Father of Curses". Explicit words fill his language but in the 1900's when he exists in Elizabeth Peters novels, that includes words that aren't really all that bad. And he stubborn as a mule. Gotta love him.

15. Someone from my favorite board or video game. How can I make uno a character? Seriously. Viva Pinata wins and the beavers are my favorite. Called sweetooths in the game. So cute. And they make this nibbling na-nah-na noise all day.

16. Inspiration. Easier said than done people. All things have inspired me to draw at one point or another. So I'll just pick what inspires me 18 days from now.

17. Favorite plant. Since an art piece sounds weird to count as a challenge since I paint a lot anyways. And my favorite plant is so easy to draw. Lucky me. Angel Trumpets.

18. A cute animal. Need I say more?

19. Something I'm afraid of. That Meth commercial where they sing...but since I can't draw that. I am afraid of water I can't see the bottom of. Roaches. Squeesh! Creepers in trench coats watching me tan on a hot day. Octopus. Never mind...I'll draw an octopus because I never ever never want to be near a live one. They can kill you man!

20. A couple. Like Mr. and Mrs. Smith or two old people on a bench. Or two cuddly labradors. Pretty done.

21. Make something you would be proud to give your role model. Or better yet, your artistic role model. My mom doesn't know the difference between acrylic and oil. Or the difference between art I tried my hardest on and art that took five seconds. So someone who knows art that could critique it. Maybe I'll do a newspaper art thing for this one. I've never done one of those before. Or add a page to my art book I started in art. Starring animals. We shall see.

22. My favorite season. Awesome. I love fall, but I love spring. Fall would be fun to draw an aspen tree. And a spring page would be full of colorful flowers. I think I'll do spring and consider fall. Maybe I'll spend a few days on this. I'll probably spend a few days on all of these to be honest. lol

23. Something I need. Artistic outlet. hahaha...a haircut every so often. Hugs and kisses. lol

24. Something that represents my favorite culture. Done. A woman in a Japanese kimono. I love their sweet shy ways. Or maybe I'll draw Alma. Because I also love Mexican/Latino Americans. Humble workers who make good food and have lots of cute babies. That's not an offensive description...

25. Someone or something from mythology. Medusa. Pretty, long awesome hair made of snakes...and deadly.

26. Something I dislike. Public nudity. Booming loud music at a stoplight. Stupid people. Zombie books. Zombie books are worse than the movies I promise you. So realistic, so haunting. Yea my two least favorite book covers. The Forest of Hands and Teeth, and The Dead Tossed Waves. Don't ask me why I read both of them, I just had to okay?

27. My favorite movie scene. Many. The monologue by Mel Gibson in Signs. "do you see signs, or is it all a coincidence?" The moment she sees him in the garden in you've got mail. When Jake Sulley flies the big, ugly, orange bird thing in Avatar, or the spirit tree in Avatar that thing is pretty cool. I'll think of something.

28. A room. uhh...I just got the idea of drawing a nursery. BABIES!

29. A place I want to go. Heaven! Awesome clouds and outstretched arms. Very spiritual. Or I could be earthly and pick Australia.

30. Anything I want gosh darn it!! I had trouble finding a day 30 anywhere that I liked. One was draw a congrats banner. How stupid. Ooooh..better idea, a silhouette. Perfect.

Now I just gotta do it. I'll post the first one when I start and post something like a critique in between the days I'm working on stuff. Or maybe I'll start numero uno now, and now tell anyone. *shifty eyes
