Alright so for those of you who don't know. I am in love with a little store called Lush. Now, I'm not on the all natural band wagon...but if you like unique one of a kind soap/lotions/shampoos/face wash/anything that goes in a bathroom....you've come to the right store. Sure, it's a little pricey, but what will a woman pay to smell good. Answer: anything. And people do it, heck I do it! Unfortunately I value other things like food and living quarters, so I have a lush budget. So the top two best sellers at the store, my opinion of them at least.
Karma the Soap
Sounds innocent enough? Number one best seller. We got a free sample with our package and it said, find out why it's number one TRY IT! Listening when paper tells me to do something I naturally opened it and used it on my hands. Patchouli, Pine Oil, Orange Oil, Lemongrass, and Lavendin Oil are the main scent causers and skin softeners. After washing my hands with it, I realized there was a peculiar scent left over on my hands. It grew on me to the point that I thought I might like it, as a bonus my hands felt soft. So one day I decided I wanted to try it on my whole body....
Worst. Idea. Ever. If a scent has to grow on you, and you may be convincing yourself you like it. You probably won't want to get it wet and put it everywhere. Just for future reference. The overall smell made my nose twitch like I just inhaled pickle juice. The orange was the only redeeming quality, but next to woody-smell or musky-smell (I don't know which) it didn't matter. One good smell mixed with a million bad smells can only lead me to one conclusion. I don't like the soap. Many people love it...I'm not one of them. But I'm one for the smell it yourself idea, you might love the soap yourself, this is my opinion. And I would give this one star, for soft skin. They also have Karma scented lotion, shampoo, bubble bar, and perfume.
Dream Cream the Lotion
Like a cold mountain stream to a thirsty bear after hibernation, this "Dream Cream" provides your outer dermis with all the essential goodies it needs. Take a trip down moisture canyon with this satisfying and balmy lotion. A few dollops and a rub or two will leave you feeling like a well oiled, freshly moisturized, perfectly polished darling of human flesh; truly a sight to behold. The touch of heavenly scented oils and minerals in this tub-o-love will leave you always, and forever wanting more. (Courtesy of Travis' creative writing)
This cream leaves a feeling of soft skin. It absorbs well, with a light lavender scent. I give it a 5. Chocked full of vegetable fats and essential oils you skin will be grateful. It helped whip my skin into shape even in this arid climate. Now I only have to lotion with any lotion once a day. It even comes in a nifty little tub to assure that you've gotten every last drop. Although my mother says of her Dream Cream, I love it but for hot days in Texas humidity it will make you sweat. It's also good for sunburns. That being said it may be best as a night soaking cream -Heather

I rather liked Travis' paragraph. It was full of metaphors and what nots, but hey, still a good read.
ReplyDeleteYour soap evaluation made me think of chopping up pine cones and dirt, then soaking them in orange oil. Hmm. Not a smell I would want everywhere. You seem to be right.
If dream cream can work for your mothers skin, as well as your own, then it sounds like a worthy product.
I will probably never go to a Lush store, but I do know how much you rave about it. They must be doing something right to have the following that they do. I think this will not be the last blog that we see about them.

Yes, he typed it as a joke when I wasn't looking. But I liked it a lot, so I made him keep it up.
ReplyDeleteYay! I have A reader.
I have read all of them so far. You should keep writing :) They entertain me!

P.S.: I posted on your others, but left out my name. Wasn't thinking.
